About Me.
I do a lot of weird things in the name of science and I love every second of it. I have worked in diverse landscapes from urban forests to coastal eelgrass beds to snow covered mountains. I have in-depth experience identifying native and invasive plants, invasive species management, wildlife camera surveys, GIS, volunteer management, and report writing. I have waded storm water ponds for amphibian egg masses, netted and pinned hundreds of bees, freeze dried clams, sprayed fox urine on trees, dissected crabs, and spent countless hours in the sun thumbing through soil to map wetlands.
In 2023, I started a community cycling event called the Beecycle that provides native plant gardens for members of the community at not cost to them. To date, the Beecycle has helped convert 2,300+ sq. ft of lawn into native plant habitat.
